When raining water runs in on the inner rear window on the engine side does this happen to anyone else and it is annoying the peace of guttering there is the wrong side of the body felt.....

The McLaren MP4-12C's dihedral doors turn the task of getting in and out of a car into a special event, but how do they fare in a typical UK car park?
As you'll see from the image below it's a tricky affair - You have to find a wide space, an end bay or just hope that whoever parks next to you gives you a wide berth...

I live in a rural area where surrounding villages are full of nasty environmentally unfriendly speed humps.
I thought that the best approach with the 12C would be to have the Handling (Suspension stiffness / damping) in 'Normal' mode in order to minimise the effect of the humps and the possibility of grounding...
So up until a few days ago that is precisely what I did, however the underside skid blocks and air deflectors just behind the front wheels almost always scrape over the crest of the speed humps.... It's nasty.
Here's a scan of a letter received today from McLaren Automotive's Managing Director Antony Sheriff confirming that MP4-12C owners will receive a 'free' 25PS power upgrade for their car along with a range of other enhancements including a fully functional Iris system :)
The downside is that I'mgoing to have to wait until October for this :(

A big thanks to Jason (gadget) and Chrisfor their exceptional hospitality - Great Weather, Food, Company and a big screen view of the Monaco GP live in their superb home cinema demo room!
Last night I was away from home but was contacted on four occasions in the middle of trhe night by my alarm company to say that my garage alarm had been activated... I immediately checked the live CCTV stream and couldn't see any problem at all, so I presumed it was just a false alarm...
But on close inspection of my DVR footage upon my return today I discovered that there had been a genuine intruder:

It seems my 12C is the preferred choice of BATS!
After my car was upgraded to 'the latest' 8.2 firmware I noticed that when reversing the passenger door mirror completely failed to automatically dip properly (it was randomly OK before), yet I had been told that one of the bugs fixed in 8.2 was to correct issues some owners were experiencing with their mirrors!
I've been using the car every day for the last few weeks and this has been driving me a bit crazy as I really want to avoid rim damage.
